Illuminator Light Information
The lighting in any home or building, for that matter, makes a big difference on how things look and feel. We use lighting to create moods through texture and various levels of dimness and brightness. In most cases, the ideal way to illuminate a room is with natural lighting.
The reason that natural lighting is so important is that it is easy on the eyes. Natural light does not have that glare that artificial light has. Natural light is also safer to the eyes. Bulbed lighting is one of the main contributors to eye deterioration, over time.
Since natural lighting cannot perform all our lighting needs, we must use some artificial light. What should we use? The best sources of artificial light will often minimize glare effect. For example, sconce lights and floor lamps tend to reflect light off of walls and ceilings for a softer feel. Other lamps and such will diffuse the light through lamp shades and various elegant cuts of glass. The last thing you want is a glaring bulb to look at.
The process of using light properly is called illumination. An illuminator is a person that goes around lighting up buildings and designing lighting systems. The true illuminator is someone that can reveal the space or landscape in natural, clever, and interesting ways.
